o lugar do silêncio | odurzeni światłem
Sitting on a grass for a while today. It felt like being embraced by summer and autumn at the same time. New places. Old friendships. Sun and Moon. And a music package waiting for me in the evening. The beauty of August. Time of contradictions. Silent place. Bossa velha.

where songs are stored on cellphones
All those desert feelings of today captured by Koudédé, a true nomad from Agadez, Niger. Sahel souvenir.
Contemporary pop music from the Sahara desert, where songs are stored on cellphones. Collected in Northern Mali in 2010 (since taken over by extremists who've banned music on cellphones) the second volume expands into new sonic territory - from dreamy Niger guitar ballads, Bamako club juke, to hi energy Moroccan child Raï - with a focus on the Autotuned DIY creations circulating the desert. For more sounds from Saharan Cellphones, please click here.

days in longing
Perfect evening. City. Good people. Red moon. Brilliance and honesty in music.
I spend my days in longing,
and wondering why it's me you're wronging

stories, rituals, mysteries | creating new reality
Their music cannot be classified into any particular
category or trend. Unconventional use of acoustic instruments
including zither, dulcimer, udu, kantele, but also stones, sticks,
fragments of sheet metal from ships, voice, spiced up with a bit of
electro - all this illustrates the world of extra-musical ideas -
stories, rituals, mysteries. via Requiem Records
The video was created by Piotr Modliński. For more music of Pathman, please click here. Also make sure to check more of Requiem Records celebrating their 20th anniversary this year.

let the river | wash my soul
Cerys Matthews took as always good care of Sunday vibes and today doubled them by broadcasting live from Womad festival. Now, that's a line-up! All that reminded me that I need to update my concert plans for the upcoming weeks. For now I will let Naomi and Lisa-Kaindé, sisters from Ibeyi, haunt all my senses with this video. Let the river...
The video was directed by Ed Morris.
I will come to you river, wash my soul,
I will come to you river, wash my soul again.

I will come to you river, wash my soul,

Carry away my dead leaves (...)
Let the river take them, river drown them (...)
