all the people | blurred

Getting up when you want... Now back from the holiday wonderland reality. Luckily there are good people back here. And good people back there. Blurred from the excitement. Still.

Please meet the director of the video Pedro Romhanyi.

I get up when I want except on Wednesdays
when I get rudely awakened by the dustmen
I put my trousers on, have a cup of tea

and I think about leaving the house

I feed the pigeons I sometimes feed the sparrows too

it gives me a sense of enormous well-being
and then I'm happy for the rest of the day safe in the knowledge
there will always be a bit of my heart devoted to it

Bourne has a ghost

"If any man has a ghost
                       Bourne has a ghost,
a tiny twisted unscared ghost in a black cloak
hopping along the grimy old brick and brownstone streets still left in downtown New York (...)"  J. Dos Passos, Nineteen Nineteen

Please meet the director of the video Ninian Doff.

spectacular

Tuesdays are usually quite odd. But yesterday was spectacular. Graham's birthday.

a legal alien

There are albums that are supposed to be discovered, bought or revisited at certain time. Just like Graham Coxon's A+E that I was supposed to buy earlier. But then again - there are no coincidences and one shouldn't plan so much. I didn't plan to reach for Sting's ...Nothing like the sun until December this year. This weekend and first snow however forced me to do so. Surprisingly I found it appropriate enough. It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile.

The video was directed by David Fincher.

I'm not ready to be broken just yet
a lesson once learned is so hard to forget
be still my beating heart
you must learn to stand your ground
it's not healthy to run at this pace
the blood runs so red to my face

brave the storm

During this watery and windy Sunday I have actually seen a lot of sun and managed to brave the storm with one of the most beautiful song I have ever heard. From Graham, obviously. Good. Night.

there's a world where we can disappear, into our own little stratosphere

What'll it take to make you people dance?!

Graham makes a good point again. Ellen and James surely wouldn't have such a problem. They simply make people dance. Well, and so does Graham. Just get up offa that thing and stay tuned as Graham's new album is in stores 2nd April 2012! Yeah! Oh, I wish March wouldn't exist this year at all!

Meet the director of the video Ninian Doff and those who dance in the video :)

over borders, over frontiers!

Time travels at illegal speed! (Or was it love as Graham claims?) Having been caught up in a whirl of work and travels I've just realised that it's already mid of July. And today, on the seven day of the week, in the empire of the senses I was somehow brought to the melodies of Sting whose concert I saw exactly ten years ago. As summer approaches I pick up one of Summoner's summery song from the unmistakable The Dream of the Blue Turtles album. Splash, it's the seventh wave, I say!

in the morning

There is nothing more soothing like waking up on Sunday morning to the sounds of Graham's guitar. Isn't that astonishly beautiful? After leaving Blur, Graham has been successfully following its own artistic way and I've been practically stalking him. Even though, as he admits himself, he might have "released songs that perhaps should have stayed at home on the four track machine", my curiosity towards his works, truly adorable at certain points, will never cease. I guess the name of this blog is just a sufficient proof of my devotion towards Coxon and all his works. The best person to discribe hate-and-love musical/artistic aspects of his works is however Graham himself.
