Pretty much on hiatus this year as well. Despite appearances - the year has been full of good vibes. The best good vibes music moment - meeting the zen handpan master.

along with their stories

A pile of new albums on my desk. All to be checked during the upcoming days. Bliss. Plus new perspectives ahead and the sounds of The Helio Sequence blending with the visuals of Emanuele Kabu on top of that. Everything comes full circle. ...along with your stories.

For more videos of Emanuele Kabu, please click here.

"The main concept was to create something that continually collapses into something else as if it'll never be able to reach a proper form." Kabu via Dezeen

something different | something new

New perspective. Movie. Good talks. Good people. City. Walk. Tuning into my days off. Abundance. New music. New visions. Clock Opera's new album. November at its best.

"To coincide with the release, the band are also sharing a set of short, beautifully-shot, documentaries that offer a behind-the-scenes view in to their world as they craft what will become the new album." via Gold Flake Paint

o lugar do silêncio | odurzeni światłem

Sitting on a grass for a while today. It felt like being embraced by summer and autumn at the same time. New places. Old friendships. Sun and Moon. And a music package waiting for me in the evening. The beauty of August. Time of contradictions. Silent place. Bossa velha.

where songs are stored on cellphones

All those desert feelings of today captured by Koudédé, a true nomad from Agadez, Niger. Sahel souvenir.

Contemporary pop music from the Sahara desert, where songs are stored on cellphones. Collected in Northern Mali in 2010 (since taken over by extremists who've banned music on cellphones) the second volume expands into new sonic territory - from dreamy Niger guitar ballads, Bamako club juke, to hi energy Moroccan child Raï - with a focus on the Autotuned DIY creations circulating the desert. stories, rituals, mysteries | creating new reality

Their music cannot be classified into any particular category or trend. Unconventional use of acoustic instruments including zither, dulcimer, udu, kantele, but also stones, sticks, fragments of sheet metal from ships, voice, spiced up with a bit of electro - all this illustrates the world of extra-musical ideas - stories, rituals, mysteries. via Requiem Records

The video was created by Piotr Modliński. For more music of Pathman, please click here. Also make sure to check more of Requiem Records celebrating their 20th anniversary this year.

let the river | wash my soul

Cerys Matthews took as always good care of Sunday vibes and today doubled them by broadcasting live from Womad festival. Now, that's a line-up! All that reminded me that I need to update my concert plans for the upcoming weeks. For now I will let Naomi and Lisa-Kaindé, sisters from Ibeyi, haunt all my senses with this video. Let the river...

The video was directed by Ed Morris.
I will come to you river, wash my soul,
I will come to you river, wash my soul again.
Carry away my dead leaves (...)
Let the river take them, river drown them (...)

peekaboo | here's my hideout

Well, there's nothing more joyous than having a chat in a record store with its stuff and discovering some good sounds. From word to word, from artist to artist, from video to video. Here's Zagi teaming up with oly. Surreal. All those sketches in my head fall now into one piece with sounds becoming visual. All that in my hometown. My summer hideout.

The video was created by Joanna Goldman and Maciek Gradkowski. For more sounds from Zagi please click here.

surrendering to rhythms

Dusting off old albums, tuning into old favourites radio channels. Couldn't be happier to have Małgorzata Sarbak's album added to my collection on top of that.

For more Lado ABC sounds click here.

In the booklet to her recently released 3CD-boxset of the composer's partitas, harking back to a famous quote by German poet and Bach-contemporary Christian Schubart, she refers to Bach as an 'original genius', describing his music as an exquisite riddle for the brain – in which everything has been expertly planned, organised and designed and to which our body "may give us clues by surrendering to rhythms". via

possibilities | możliwości

Amanda Palmer meeting Wisława Szymborska. What a joy! (via brainpickings).

Wolę kino.
Wolę koty.
Wolę dęby nad Wartą.
Wolę Dickensa od Dostojewskiego.
Wolę siebie lubiącą ludzi
niż siebie kochającą ludzkość.
Wolę mieć w pogotowiu igłę z nitką.
Wolę kolor zielony.
Wolę nie twierdzić,
że rozum jest wszystkiemu winien.
Wolę wyjątki.
Wolę wychodzić wcześniej.
Wolę rozmawiać z lekarzami o czymś innym.
Wolę stare ilustracje w prążki.
Wolę śmieszność pisania wierszy
od śmieszności ich niepisania.
Wolę w miłości rocznice nieokrągłe,
do obchodzenia na co dzień.
Wolę moralistów,
którzy nie obiecują mi nic.
Wolę dobroć przebiegłą od łatwowiernej za bardzo.
Wolę ziemię w cywilu.
Wolę kraje podbite niż podbijające.
Wolę mieć zastrzeżenia.
Wolę piekło chaosu od piekła porządku.
Wolę bajki Grimma od pierwszych stron gazet.
Wolę liście bez kwiatów niż kwiaty bez liści.
Wolę psy z ogonem nie przyciętym.
Wolę oczy jasne, ponieważ mam ciemne.
Wolę szuflady.
Wolę wiele rzeczy, których tu nie wymieniłam,
od wielu również tu nie wymienionych.
Wolę zera luzem
niż ustawione w kolejce do cyfry.
Wolę czas owadzi od gwiezdnego.
Wolę odpukać.
Wolę nie pytać jak długo jeszcze i kiedy.
Wolę brać pod uwagę nawet tę możliwość,
że byt ma swoją rację.

to be nourished by the heat that radiates in the stars

You name it, you have it. I was thinking quite intensively of Django Django today and here it is: a new album Born Under Saturn is out 4th May. Star bliss. As always.

The video was directed by Daniel Swan. Please see more of his works here.

(...) to be nourished by the heat that radiates in the stars
Like down in the sun and get something for nothing

First light, the fields are ablaze
Cut through the maze, light it up quicker
Each day, never the same
Never again, get in in the picture

“Award-winning visual artist Oliver Payne has made an incredibly beautiful, funny and very affecting video for A Stone In The Ground. Justus and I are really pleased with how Oliver’s video turned out – it is by far one of the most wonderful things I’ve been involved with, and certainly a breath of fresh air in the world of music videos. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.”  Alexis Taylor, Fainting by Numbers.
