blooming | reaching away from earth

There is something so daunting and suave about the music of Jeremy Zuckerman and the whole Echo Society. It's not even about teasing your ear canals. It's about soul piercing.

The Echo Society is a Los Angeles-based collective that gathers to create and share new sonic and visual art. Our third concert "Bloom," featured a 20 piece chamber ensemble performing original works for the first time, alongside special guest composers Amon Tobin and Ryat.

The LA-based ensemble, comprised of traditional instrumentation mixed with electronics, was created for the show and conducted by our very own Joe Trapanese. The sold-out night showcased visual design by Brady McGowan & Effixx, and sound & mastering by Satoshi Noguchi. Recorded live March 12th, 2015 at Vibiana in Los Angeles.

staying in memory | achieving

Fog. Sun. Run around the nearby prison. Then islands. Then boats. Harbour. Walk. Good talk. Then some things in-between. Pheeew. The list is long. Want to ask for more. Nah. THAT and the rest stays in memory. Plus I like that video.

Find out more about Yiruma here. In case you're short on time, know that the name Yiruma in Korean means I shall achieve. That's all you need to know for now. Have a fruitful and prosperous upcoming week and spring.

makin' 'em proud like the real thing

There are no words to express my love for tUne yArDs. It's not real. Just what is...

just what is the real thing?
don't call my the real thing
the search for the real thing
the curse of the real thing
I come from the land of shame
blood and guts are all I claim, singing

we're just different colors | biting the bullet

And when suddenly and unexpectedly you get a good vibe back. We carry each other.

See more of the Walk The Moon here.

different colors
we carry each other
we're just different colors
this is why we're biting the bullet
we know the kids are right

leaping | in balance

I've committed myself to a sport activity two times in a row now. It makes me feel like a very responsible adult. Also talked about cello and revisited works of Zoë Keating. And that always makes me feel in balance.

figures are forming to find us a door

When things move forward or at least you have an illusion of that but you lack a good tune to back you up. So I discover an old tape and things are kind of back on track again.

Hear more of Crystal Stilts here and see more of Slumberland Records here.

figures are forming
to find us a door

when I dance in disorder

Shake. Shook. Shaken. Endorphin levels restored by The Dø. I am this video.

The video was directed by Jeremiah and The Dø and edited by Rebecca Gomes Ferenczi.

we are sentimental animals
we are undercover criminals
we were meant to make a thing or two
meant to break the laws of gravity too (...)

creatures like me
easily sucked in
when I dance in disorder
do I want to
make sense at all
no no no, not this time, it
comes and goes
comes and goes
chaos is my second home

never you mind I'll sift through the piles

When you have friends staying over and they know your music. Priceless.

4AD Session. Shot at Shangri-La Studios in the heart of the Brooklyn film and photography district in Greenpoint, the session was recorded with Annie's new band, Daniel Mintseris (keys), Toko Yasuda (moog) and Matthew Johnson (drums). via 4AD

turn off the TV, wait in bed
blue and red
somethin' to get along (...)

dress the undressing for the wall
if mother calls
she knows well we don't get along

I tell the mailman, "Never you mind
I'll sift through the piles"
for him to just get along
