writers, writers | concerts, concerts

Dealing with too many gigs? Never. Some you are simply attentively listening in spirit.

got on fire

When a song starts to grow within you and captures you in an unseen way: yesterday I witnessed the most mesmerising performance in months. Unlocked. Started.

4, 3, 2, 1

Going to a gig tomorrow. Or maybe even two plus some special features. All that with the good people around.

don't waste your time on things that won't make you grow
the tube will tell you honey all you need to know
welcome to the cast and crew of night of the living dead

oh darling passion is something that likes to be conquered
just like love

like life

killing the radio

The state of delirium and fever on every level of my body and soul has been accompanying me during the last few days. Luckily we literally killed a new private radio show with a good friend of mine. Now ending the day with Blitz the Ambassador and Terence Nance. Kudos.

reminiscences of the sun

I have somehow forgotten almost totally how it feels when the sun is around. Luckily there is Lianne that can bring beams of light to this neverending winter and Tuesday. Good. Night.

The video was directed by Colin Solal Cardo from Blogotheque.

free at last

Friday. Let freedom ring! One deserves good jazzy vibes: Denys Baptiste with Ben Okri.

For, after the gospels,
After the human and divine comedies,

After the one thousand and one nights,
After crime and punishment,
War and peace, pride and prejudice,
The sound and the fury,
Between good and evil,
Being and nothingness,
After the tempest, the trial,
And the wasteland,
After things have fallen apart,
After the hundred years of solitude,
And the remembrance of things past,
In the kingdom of this world,
We can still astonish the gods in humanity
And be the stuff of future legends,
If we but dare to be real,
And have the courage to see
That this is the time to dream
The best dream of them all.

postman | no ritardando

I admit I do feel a bit like a postman these days distributing some good vibes postcards. Quite a hectic job. Mélissa Laveaux sets the rhythm to these moments. Her Dying Is A Wild Night (title inspired by Emily Dickinson) will be out February 25 via No Format Records. More than good. More than good. To be watched and listened to. On repeat.

Please meet the director of the video Terence Nance and see more of his works here.

Dying at my music!
Bubble! Bubble!
Hold me till the Octave's run!
Quick! Burst the Windows!
Ritardando!
Phials left, and the Sun!

garôta de Ipanema

So yes, how about a walk in Ipanema with The Record of the Year back from 1965? That's an effective way of taming winter. Here by Os Ipanemas from Mr Bongo.

erasing

... then tuned into my new habits and now closing the day with Nils Frahm. Good. Night.

old habits

Went back to my old habits this weekend and tuned into Selector. Good vibes from Goldierocks as always. Good tunes from Sparrow and the workshop. Promising.
