remedy

In need of light. Yoshi Sodeoka blending with Yeasayer proves to be a good remedy. Again.

a good (night) song from Woman's Hour

Soothing the effects of Tuesday with Woman's Hour. Unmistakable. Good.

I wasn't certain what had happened to me. My experience most closely mirrored the "eat me, drink me" scene in Alice in Wonderland. I tried to access her restrained and curious reaction to her own psychedelic trials. Patti Smith, Just Kids

lifesaver

So many misconceptions. So many evil deceptions. The day saved by Guru. New direction.

here in the cold

I was abducted today. Drawn into a vast winter woodland. It was comfortably silent and daringly beautiful. Zen.

Please meet the directors of the video Karni and Saul (here in co-operation with Aardman).

elephant and castle

Had long and good talks today. Explored a few new places. And heard there are many curious things going on in Elephant and Castle. Just as those that are going on in the new Django Django's video I presume. Stay surreal. And take the Hand of Man.

Please meet the director of the video John Maclean (a former Beta Band member).
The video was shot in London’s Elephant And Castle pub.

biking to Palios

“I have an old-fashioned idea about music videos—I think the videos should relate to the music. Some videos seem as if you could swap out the music and no one would be the wiser, but I didn’t want that to be the case with Ryan and Mira’s video. I wanted to make something that was a specific expression of their music. It was a bit tricky, inasmuch as their music is instrumental. So what’s it about, really? How to visually express it? Firstly, I knew they’d taken this trip to Greece together, and guessed it must have been an important trip, because hell, Ryan named the album after it: ‘Road to Palios.’ So it seemed like an obvious choice to make the video some kind of journey to idyllic Palios, probably starting from the urban hell-scape of Portland, Oregon (where he lives).” Matt Kresling, director

Road To Palios by Ryan Francesconi and Mirabai Peart is out now via Bella Union.

orange cup

Morning tea and overcoming the obstacles of Tuesday. Here's a perfect remedy for that: Paula and Karol and a piece of a soothing animation. Good. Vibes. Good. Day.

in the darklight

In this darkland I am embarking on a trip with Egyptian Hip Hop tonight. Exotic enough.

Please meet the director of the video Isaac Eastgate (yes indeed, he's been collaborating with Django Django and Dutch Uncles). For more of his videos click here.

hopeful to see them now

"We find our inspiration in old movies, late-night biking trips, second-hand shops, picnics and love." All of which are simply perfect reasons to be a perfect band. I should say I am really looking forward to midnight biking again as much as I am looking forward to Paperfang's debut album that will be released this year by Soliti. I am hopeful to see it.

For more music from Finland make sure to check Glue & we never stood a chance (in FIN).

Friday vibes from Jazz Jamaica

Apparently I tend to tune rather openly into jazz mood on Friday afternoons in the office as my colleague noticed today. Well, quite right. Let's then openly tune into Jazz Jamaica.

I've been exposed to some quite stunning amount of colours today. So let's still have a bit of it for the end of this day. Plus a trumpet, a dancer and New York. All nicely served.

must have my walking stick

I couldn't have imagined a better welcoming of this futuristic number of 2013: quite extemporaneous and with the most wonderful friends and the best possible tune in the background. Very classy. Very good. Good vibes to all of you for this year!

without my walking stick, I'd go insane
can't look my best, I'd feel undressed without my cane
