I've committed myself to a sport activity two times in a row now. It makes me feel like a very responsible adult. Also talked about cello and revisited works of Zoë Keating. And that always makes me feel in balance.

Ain't I A Woman?
I hesitated for a long while. I thought that this time I'd prepared myself but you can't simply do that. I knew that the moment I press the play button something unearthly beautiful would fill the space around me. Like it was last time. Well, and so it did this time as well. Turn off everything that may disturb you and channel Ayanna's stories towards your zone.

That man over there says that women need to be helped into carriages, and lifted over ditches, and to have the best place everywhere. Nobody ever helps me into carriages, or over mud-puddles, or gives me any best place! And ain't I a woman? Look at me! Look at my arm! I have ploughed and planted, and gathered into barns, and no man could head me! And ain't I a woman? I could work as much and eat as much as a man - when I could get it - and bear the lash as well! And ain't I a woman? Sojourner Truth, read the whole speech here.

o que c'est beau schön prittie prittie
"Zoe Keating playing her cello in the middle of San Francisco International Airport. On
her way to play, Zoe opens
up about the places she's been fortunate enough to visit and play,
because of her music. A cello festival in Beauvais, the opera house in
Sydney, Zurich, the New Mexico desert for the gasoline-laden simulation
of a nuclear bomb, the list goes on." Read more on the story here.

sweet sweet song from sweet sweet moon
String instruments are in fashion. I truly don't mind. Sweet Sweet Moon is truly sweet sweet. And isn't this title simply perfect? I See Things That You Don´t See And That Is Blue, Blue, Black And Dylan. It's going to be a good day after such a start! :)

escape
Zoë Keating shared today this absolutely stunning live performance of "Escape Artist" recorded at the ABC Radio National. She describes pretty well my attitude towards the forest and the city. That's precisely what I feel whenever I run into the woods: I can't wait to be back in the city again. And once there, then I wish to run away somewhere else almost immediately. Always in between. Zoë blends this duality unmistakably. As usual.

double rainbowness

I have seen two double rainbows two days in a row. Wonderfulness. And also had an inspiring conversation on the beauty of art. Both things brought me the post Zoë Keating shared on her Twitter. Please meet Adam Wolpert and his works.
I don't relate to ugly, repulsive images that decribe our times.
(...) there is still an enourmous amount of beauty.

truthfully & unconditionally
On this rainy Midsummer day chilly London serves truthfully mesmerizing sounds of Ayanna Witter-Johnson. Cherish the first time you are going to listen to this performance as it will stay within you and then it will start growing (as it has started within me). Unconditionally.

confused
Confusion continues with the weekend consisting from four days and me being two days out of town. But how much I wish such weekends were even longer! Those wonderful days had a fantastic kick off with an absolutely brilliant performance of Elifantree in Korjaamo on Wednesday. Being a hopeless case of a sound sponge and bombarding myself with numerous music press I can't escape this danger tendency of comparing bands with other musical acts. But with Elifantree it doesn't work. They are just what they are. And they are a sonic feast! Three people who passionately engage themselves on the stage are a true pleasure for the ear and eye. All of them captivating and crafty with Anni Elif Egecioglu driving special attention due to her rich voice and stage presence. Without any hesitation, I can say this was one of the best live music acts I have ever seen. And all that with great people around me.
The video was directed by Vilhelmiina Vilhunen.
