Resonating. Soothing. Promising. Feeling very comfortable in the house of Astrid Swan. And so should you.

she | a way out of the blue
It's a very haunting version of Laura Mvula's song She. It's a way out of the blue.
she walked towards you with her head down low
she wondered if there was a way out of the blue (...)
she's tired, but she don't stop

to close softly the doors
...learning to close softly the doors to rooms we will not be coming back to... stands as a motto of Tough Love Recordings. Couldn't be more suitable for this time of the year. Just as Fun Adults couldn't be more suitable with their video. It does suffice my hunger for colours today.
Please meet the director of the video Dan W Jacobs (of the band). Animation by Dan W Jacobs and Huw Thomas.
washed in your thoughts for nothing
breathe under, sun fake, skin sat under
feels like a sap solid

silence yourself
SAVAGES is not trying to give you something you didn’t have already, it is calling within yourself something you buried ages ago, it is an attempt to reveal and reconnect your PHYSICAL and EMOTIONAL self and give you the urge to experience your life differently, your girlfriends, your husbands, your jobs, your erotic life and the place music occupies in your life. Because we must teach ourselves new ways of POSITIVE MANIPULATIONS, music and words are aiming to strike like lightning, like a punch in the face, a determination to understand the WILL and DESIRES of the self. strawberry gin
Speaking of rum... how about strawberry gin? There is this lovely cocktail booklet from Café de Abejas... Good. Drinks. Good. Songs.
... soul wrapped in steel
you never can feel;
the less you conceal,
the less you reveal;
the winds in your rigging
are desolate, lonely and few.

postman | no ritardando
I admit I do feel a bit like a postman these days distributing some good vibes postcards. Quite a hectic job. Mélissa Laveaux sets the rhythm to these moments. Her Dying Is A Wild Night (title inspired by Emily Dickinson) will be out February 25 via No Format Records. More than good. More than good. To be watched and listened to. On repeat.
Please meet the director of the video Terence Nance and see more of his works here.
Dying at my music!
Bubble! Bubble!
Hold me till the Octave's run!
Quick! Burst the Windows!
Ritardando!
Phials left, and the Sun!

a good (night) song from Woman's Hour
Soothing the effects of Tuesday with Woman's Hour. Unmistakable. Good.
I wasn't certain what had happened to me. My experience most closely mirrored the "eat me, drink me" scene in Alice in Wonderland. I tried to access her restrained and curious reaction to her own psychedelic trials. Patti Smith, Just Kids

hopeful to see them now
"We find our inspiration in
old movies, late-night biking trips, second-hand shops, picnics and
love." All of which are simply perfect reasons to be a perfect band. I should say I am really looking forward to midnight biking again as much as I am looking forward to Paperfang's debut album that will be released this year by Soliti. I am hopeful to see it.

a good (night) song from London Grammar
It's always a real pleasure to discover music with Mary Anne Hobbs. Here's the tune from London Grammar she shared today in her new show on BBC 6 . Good. Song. Good. Night.

the year in 360°
Hypnotic. Cinematic. Great. In the city. That's what this year was about and this is the soundtrack to this: the song of the 2012 by Sam Sure & Giacomo. Good. Blend. Good. Year.
Please meet the director of the video Richard Nockles and have a look at the production company Yellow Bird. For the interactive Dark Inside video visit the band's website.

under their reign
The best things are those unexpected. And when I think about all the concerts of this year, the most memorable, with the smallest yet the most devoted audience, in the coldest yet the cosiest venue and a good friend by my side paying an unexpected visit, was the one of Café de Abejas: a band to watch in 2013. Witty and sharp. Let's be faithful to them, in a real way.
The video was directed by Laura Reunanen and Juha Reunanen.
do not resort to stronger wine, my love
under my reign superbly you shall bloom (...)
the orbits do their dance, and here we are
the music stops, the dawn is gray again
insufferably close
insufferably far
i never was so hungry for the pain
(...) so marry and make merry as you please
be faithful in your fashion, your design
