"The video opens on an interior. It is New York. We see David Swan, practicing diligently.
The scene then cuts to Emmy The Great, and both men, cheering loudly. Then, Emmy the great is seen wearing the hooded figure in the dark sky.
In the chorus, Emmy The Great lip-synchs to the camera, dancing romantically with a bra. Then, Emmy The Great destroys the pair angrily with both men.
The video ends in a desk. Emmy The Great is shown waving sadly to the fairytale prince."
Now that's a concept: Daniel Swan and Emmy The Great are teaming up. And then it gets better: you can generate your own music video plot as seen above and below: music video machine. Goodbye boredom.

pop-up cinema
I am so happy today. Like it almost feels unreal. And then this tune came by. A pop-up cinema remains on my still growing to-do list. Think about it. I am doing it.

to be nourished by the heat that radiates in the stars
You name it, you have it. I was thinking quite intensively of Django Django today and here it is: a new album Born Under Saturn is out 4th May. Star bliss. As always.
The video was directed by Daniel Swan. Please see more of his works here.
(...) to be nourished by the heat that radiates in the stars
Like down in the sun and get something for nothing
First light, the fields are ablaze
Cut through the maze, light it up quicker
Each day, never the same
Never again, get in in the picture

layers of sharing
Sharing good news with a friend. Sharing jazz sounds on Friday night. Sharing a story: Inspired by the sounds of nature and by the complexities of human
relationships, this song uses small layered motifs to create a much
larger sound. We can then see the new relationships formed from these
layerings and explore them to their natural end. (via Azemobo)

Take a drive to Primrose Hill. It's windy there, and the view's so nice.

anybody lost or needs information?
Not necessarily lost but in need of information indeed. Music still being my radar.

patron saint of their neighbourhoods
The lovely voice came through the speakers in the part café.
Natalie Blake and her friend Leah Hanwell had long ago agreed that this
voice sounded like London - especially its northern and north-western
zones - as if its owner were patron saint of their neighbourhoods. Is a
voice something you can own? Zadie Smith, N-W

tunnel vision
A retrospective look into Django Django sound. That how I want to see it.
that how you want to play it
break my heart and go home
why'd you want to go do that, but we're not even in the way
tunnel vision, never listen, no we're never going home

fun fun fun
Now... Speaking of giraffes and other creatures, let's have a look at Laura Gee's illustrations. A pure feast for the eyes. One of her work is a "face" (quite literally) of a new label Handsome Dad Records that delivers a new tune from Fun Adults. Fun. Fun. Fun. Good. Fun.
Please support the artists and purchase their work: Laura Gee & Fun Adults.

keeping light in the window
Something very true and honest served by Quantic and Alice Russell. Delicious.
The video was made by Mochilla.
someone is friendless, cannot find their way
so I'll, keep my light in my window

friday line | skyline
To sum up the International Jazz Day let's tune into Portico Quartet's world. Just like Friday. Line. Abbey Road. Skyline.
The absence of snow was sensational. To hold a cigarette without wearing gloves, to reveal one's whole face to the air! Howard rarely felt moved by an English skyline, but today just to see an oak and an office block, outlined by a bluish sky with no interpolation of white on either, seemed to him a landscape of rare splendour and refinement. Zadie Smith, On Beauty

silence yourself
SAVAGES is not trying to give you something you didn’t have already, it is calling within yourself something you buried ages ago, it is an attempt to reveal and reconnect your PHYSICAL and EMOTIONAL self and give you the urge to experience your life differently, your girlfriends, your husbands, your jobs, your erotic life and the place music occupies in your life. Because we must teach ourselves new ways of POSITIVE MANIPULATIONS, music and words are aiming to strike like lightning, like a punch in the face, a determination to understand the WILL and DESIRES of the self. free at last
Friday. Let freedom ring! One deserves good jazzy vibes: Denys Baptiste with Ben Okri.
For, after the gospels,
After the human and divine comedies,
After the one thousand and one nights,
After crime and punishment,
War and peace, pride and prejudice,
The sound and the fury,
Between good and evil,
Being and nothingness,
After the tempest, the trial,
And the wasteland,
After things have fallen apart,
After the hundred years of solitude,
And the remembrance of things past,
In the kingdom of this world,
We can still astonish the gods in humanity
And be the stuff of future legends,
If we but dare to be real,
And have the courage to see
That this is the time to dream
The best dream of them all.
Mental Fight - Ben Okri

a good (night) song from Woman's Hour
Soothing the effects of Tuesday with Woman's Hour. Unmistakable. Good.
I wasn't certain what had happened to me. My experience most closely mirrored the "eat me, drink me" scene in Alice in Wonderland. I tried to access her restrained and curious reaction to her own psychedelic trials. Patti Smith, Just Kids
